Video of a teen fight in the Augusta Mall over the weekend has gained attention after a cell phone video hit YouTube.

According to Richmond County sheriff's Capt. Scott Gay, the fight involving multiple 15- and 16-year-olds stemmed from an ongoing Facebook feud and escalated while the girls were in the food court of the mall around 8 p.m. Saturday.

Security and deputies stepped in and eventually stopped the fray but not before a glass hanging over food at Sbarro was broken, Gay said.

The juveniles were charged with second degree criminal damage to property and affray.

Thanks, Brad. I try not to

Thanks, Brad. I try not to tick off Sean and knew he would pull that one, but it was such a funny idea I couldn't let it pass. I'm sure Sean laughed hard as we all did. At least he left it up long enough for a few of my friends to catch it. He didn't even send me the usual notice or anything. He just yanked it. LOL

I forgot to mention the total

I forgot to mention the total number of cases includes crimes such as forgery, missing person, domestic violence, other, etc..

A certain poster tried to spin things and make it seem all the crimes were burglaries, rapes, aggravated assaults, drugs, theft by taking, auto theft, etc..

Countyman, sorry but your

Countyman, sorry but your comment was in fact extremely misleading and not acurate in numbers either. NO deputies were hired except to replace those fired / quit and your statement certainly implies otherwise.

If you can not even debate on an adult level on something that is not even debatable by giving missinformation then there is really no need to debate any further.

This county has removed 40 deputies from service in the past few years, with 4 furlough days this past year, based on hours worked, an additional 16 were removed and this year with 5 furlough days, 18 will be removed....net loss of deputies for the Sheriff in the past few years 58 which is almost a 10% reduction in force.

Now, to your debatable subject which is crime stats - remove 58 deputies or 10% of the force and crime stats will go down, no doubt about it...does that mean that crime went down...well, maybe in your world but not in the real one.

Piperpig, ‘Google Carter Strange. That happened in Five Points,’
This was pure and simply a HATE crime but it was black on white so no one even gives it a 2nd thought. This what our country is coming too thanks to black leaders and the democrats.

If you lose 1000 jobs and add

If you lose 1000 jobs and add 100, you still lost 900 jobs total.

Why are people afraid to go

Why are people afraid to go to the Augusta Mall?!?! I don't understand it. Are we citizens or sheeple? I've lived in, and traveled to, big cities in this country and have never been afraid to go anywhere, any place at any time of day. Take a stand, damnit! You folks need to understand that there are more of YOU (law abiding decent people) than there are of THEM! Learn how to defend yourself, walk with confidence, make THEM move out of YOUR way when you walk in the mall, don't take any lip from the punks, and act like an ADULT. I don't understand why ADULTS are afraid of CHILDREN! Grow a pair....

I'm 47 years old, 6' 2", 230 lbs., and in VERY good shape and I have a surprise for any punk that thinks they can take this "old" man. You're on notice parents, if my family and I are at the mall and your child does something wrong or says something to us that's out of line.... I won't hesitate to issue a fresh one across the mouth no matter the age. Meanwhile, I'll continue to shop, eat, and travel anywhere I damn well please.

The fact that you are 6ft

The fact that you are 6ft 2inch & 230 pounds sez alot----most female shoppers can't say that....& usually the frail & females are the victims in a mall....when my daughter worked at Regency she tried to stop some thieves.....they threatened her life & said they would get her after work....a female shopper was kidnapped-raped & killed....it got so bad that I insisted to the manager that he walk her out to her car at night

I'm hoping Columbia and Aiken

I'm hoping Columbia and Aiken counties are held to the exact standard if the crime rate happens to decrease this year... I know they won't but it's funny to try anyway... I did mention the number of total cases are down this year, but the number of total arrest are up.. The police officers in Richmond County have been arresting more criminals in 2011 compared to 2010..

The number of homicides are also down in 2011 compared to 2010... There's nothing to debate about concerning those figures, because you can't hide a dead body.. People can't spin the homicide rate because death is the only result... It's hard to spin the number of aggravated assaults decreasing this year.. Especially since some involve guns/knives and the victim must receive medical treatment..

Iresqu, I doubt you will meet

Iresqu, I doubt you will meet with the same junk, a woman less than half your size may encounter. We will have to be more selective as to time of day, and areas to shop in. I join seenit in saying you would hire out very well.
