Brush fire reported near Hephzibah

Three fire units were at the scene of an uncontained brush fire near Peach Orchard Road and Barefield Drive near Hephzibah on Thursday , according to the Georgia Forestry Commission.

The blaze was several acres in size, though a more precise measure wasn't immediately available.

The forestry commission said that although the fire had not been contained as of 10:45 p.m., no homes or other buildings were in danger.

The fire was first reported at 8:30 p.m., according to Richmond County dispatch.
