Clayton teacher says she's pregnant with student's babies

A Clayton County high school teacher is pregnant with twins and claims a teenage student is the father.

Rene Chantel Frank, 27, has been charged with sexual assault of a person in school and is being held without bond, according to Clayton County jail records.

Frank, of Riverdale, told police the student's father asked her to transport the boy to Charles Drew High School, according to an arrest warrant obtained by Channel 2 Action News. It was during those trips to school that the relationship between Frank and the student progressed, she told police.

Frank admitted to police that she and the teen had sex inside her parked vehicle off-campus numerous times. She now claims she is pregnant with twins and that the 17-year-old boy is the father.

Locking her up after she opened the barn door is a waste of taxpayer money, but I would hope she'd lose her teaching certification.

The "kid" was 17 years old. He can sign up for the military with a waiver. I don't think advantage was taken of the 17 year old.

Remember Mary Kay Letourneau?

Remember Mary Kay Letourneau? Her student fathered two of her children. He was 13 when she started having an affair with him. There is quite a difference in 13 & 17.

Even if the kid instigated the whole affair, it's still highly unethical and, apparently criminal, too, in the state of Georgia, for a high school teacher to be "involved" with her students.
It can even be a career buster for a college professor...and we're definitely dealing with full-fledged adults in that scenario.

Does anybody have any common

Does anybody have any common sense these days? Who, with a shred of decency, would do something like this, but then compound the error by getting pregnant? It is no wonder to me that these children today are so messed up. Look who some of them have as teachers, coaches, parents, etc.

No, a 17 year old having a

No, a 17 year old having a relationship with a 27 year old teacher is molestation.

Normal 27 year old women do not have sexual interests in 17 year old kids, no matter how "handsome" or "sexy" or "mature" they are, and she is a predator.

That woman is sick, sick, sick.

Their "relationship" consisted of having sex in her truck. What decent parent would want their child involved in something like that? How is that a positive, healthy, normal, appropriate relationship for a teenager?

Considering that she was arrested for sexual assault of a person in school, and was denied bond, the parents of that boy seem not to agree with this "relationship". What parent would? They send their children to school to get an education, not to be exploited by a teacher.

Teachers have lots of power and control over kids in school. A teacher-child relationship is not an equal relationship in any way, shape, or form. She is a predatory loser- and that boy is too young to understand that. Now he's going to be a father at 17- and I guarantee you, that possibility never entered his mind for one second.

I'm pretty sure that when the boy's father asked her to take him to school, he didn't expect this as an outcome, nor does he think this is a happy event.

You just can't believe that someone could be so evil as to exploit a teenager like that.

A Former Clayton County

A Former Clayton County substitute teacher was arrested Monday for alleged sexual misconduct with a student.

She is charged with sexual assault of a person in custody/school.

According to court documents, former math teacher Rene Chantel Frank ,27, reportedly admitted to police that –– while working at Charles Drew High School –– she engaged in sexual acts with a 17-year-old, male student.

She also admitted, according to an affidavit for an arrest warrant in the case, to having sex with the 17-year-old “on several occasions, while inside her motor vehicle, parked on the street,” in Jonesboro. She said all sexual acts with the student occurred off school property.

Frank told police, the affidavit said, that her relationship with the 17-year-old started “when the student’s father asked her to drive him to school,” and things progressed from there.

She is currently pregnant with twins, and says the 17-year-old student is the father of the babies, according to the warrant affidavit.

Frank said she did approach the student’s mother and told her about the pregnancy and the relationship, the court document said.

The document also states that Frank said “she did not engage in any sex acts with any other students at Charles Drew High School, even though there is another child who alleges she” did have sexual contact with him.

Frank had been a substitute teacher at Charles Drew High School since sometime in 2010, and was the 17-year-old student’s sixth-period math teacher.

The complaint was first received May, 4, according to police, and the student was interviewed, and admitted to having a sexual relationship with Frank.

Attempts to reach the lawyer listed for Frank in court documents –– for comment –– were unsuccessful.

Charles White, a spokesman for Clayton County Public Schools, said the school system would not comment on the case because it involved a personnel matter.

Frank’s next hearing in the case is scheduled for June 7, at the Harold R. Banke Justice Center, in Jonesboro.

It is illegal for teachers to have sex with students. Remember the Harlem teacher who got caught with the 15 year old girl? Her conviction was overturned, but I think the law is in effect. By the way, the age of consent in Georgia is 16, but it doesn't apply if the young person is a student and the older one is a teacher.

Belle, I absolutely CAN blame

Belle, I absolutely CAN blame her. The situation is appalling. Unless the student raped the the teacher, the teacher is solely at fault. When you are in a position of power over someone, it is a one-sided issue. Her morals are seriously lacking and certainly someone with such a deficit should not be in a teaching profession.
