Grass fire near Augusta Tech

A grass fire broke out this afternoon near Augusta Tech College by Bobby Jones Expressway and I-520, according to Richmond County sheriff’s dispatch.

Sgt. Mary Johnson said they received a call at 4:25 p.m. and authorities were sent out to contain the fire. No persons or buildings were believed to be in danger.
