Woman charged with cutting boyfriend's face

A 44-year-old Augusta woman was arrested early Wednesday morning after she cut her boyfriend in the face during an argument Tuesday night, according to a Richmond County Sheriff's Office report.

Police arrested Mary Williams in the 1700 block of Apple Valley Drive at 4 a.m., just four hours after she used a pocket knife to cut her boyfriend's chin and then drove away from the scene. The man had a cut to the left side of his chin but was not taken to the hospital, according to the report.

The man told officers the two were on the way home from Williams' sister's house on Apple Valley Drive when she took his keys out of his pocket and took a car key from his key ring. When they arrived at the man's house, he asked for the key back, which sparked an argument that led Williams to bring out her pocket knife, the report says.
