Man found unresponsive on Waffle House roof

A man was found unresponsive on the roof of a Waffle House on Gordon Highway on Wednesday, according to the Richmond County Fire Department.

Deputy Fire Chief Carl Scott said a heating and air conditioner repair man discovered the man after climbing on the roof for repairs at the restaurant at 1629 Gordon Highway.

Scott said he was unsure how long the man had been on the roof, but it did not appear he had been living there.

Authorities were uncertain how the man gained access to the roof.

He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
