A man was robbed of $5,500 cash on Sunday when he went to purchase a vehicle from a Craigslist seller, deputies say.

The victim and another man were at First  Avenue and Wheeler Road around 6:40 p.m. expecting to buy a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Instead, two men pointed guns at them and demanded they hand over their wallets.

The victims put up a fight that earned one of them a rap on the head with a gun, but neither could stop the robbers from taking their money, a Richmond County sheriff’s report states.
