A Beech Island man was caught in the act when he attempted to remove a truck-load of metal from a Sand Bar Ferry warehouse.

Authorities responded to the warehouse at 602 Sand Bar Ferry around noon today where they found Frank Mums, 46, of the 100 block of Oak Drive in Beech Island, according to Richmond County sheriff’s Investigator Alton Creech.

The suspect had already removed items from the warehouse and loaded his vehicle when officers arrived.

Mums was charged with burglary.
