ROSWELL, Ga. — Members of a Catholic church in Roswell arrived for Easter Sunday mass to find that a statue of Jesus there had been vandalized with paint.

Atlanta station WSB-TV reports that someone put paint on the face and hands of the statue and painted other offensive symbols.

Church deacon Dave Thomasberger says the paint has gotten into the statue's marble and will be hard to get out.

There was no word on any suspects.
