Bond denied for adult accused in beating

 A 29-year-old man accused of joining several teenagers in beating up a young man walking home from school must await possible indictment and trial in jail.

Bond was denied Friday for Rafael J. McBride, who is accused of aggravated battery. Assistant District Attorney Adam Land said the 15-year-old victim was attacked  March 21. He needs surgery to repair a broken jaw, which is wired shut.

McBride, whose criminal history includes convictions for theft and sale of cocaine, denies taking part in the beating.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity
