ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Authorities say an Orangeburg man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of his girlfriend.

Orangeburg County deputies say 23-year-old Malcolm Curry was arrested Friday night after officers were called to his home and found 21-year-old Lynette Glover shot to death.

Curry's aunt told WIS-TV that the couple had been dating since high school. Sonovia Guinyard says her nephew told her the shooting was an accident.

Guinyard says the couple seemed happy the last time she saw them at a cookout.

Deputies say the shooting is still under investigation and have not released many details.

Curry is being held without bond. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
