A computer technician at University Hospital is suspected of stealing 20 operating system CDs and selling them on eBay.

The theft was discovered Friday morning by Aaron Heffner’s supervisor, and her investigation revealed that Heffner had stolen the CDs, worth $1,000, and other  property, a Richmond County sheriff’s report said.

Just checked ebay, and the

Just checked ebay, and the going price for OS CD's is about $20. Not a lot of profit for the thief.

What's the other property stolen ? Hopefully not computer gear with patient confidential information.

Could a UH administrator please expand on this brief report?

If I needed to steal to

If I needed to steal to survive, I would consider myself and the teachings of my deceased parents worthless.
People love to help a honest man, but not a thief. If he keeps his job, he should turn over a new leaf and and vow to help someone each and every day. The rewards of helping those in need are limitless...

So he gets arrested, will

So he gets arrested, will have a criminal record, loses his job- for a few hundred dollars.

Although I think he now qualifies to be hired by the city.

CDs, DVDs both look alike and

CDs, DVDs both look alike and unless you are a technogeek, don't really care about the difference between them. The point is that the employee stole them.

Hopefully, University

Hopefully, University Hospital is more thorough in Patient Care than they are in their investigations.
First paragraph he's suspected and the second he's convicted. Great job by that Supervisor who needs to be career pathed. She is a perfect example of why the University Hospital has the problems it does with this type of incompetent "Supervisors". The only party who owns the shame here is The University Hospital.
