Local car dealer named to natural resources board

A local car dealer has been named to the state Board of Natural Resources, Gov. Nathan Deal's press office announced this morning.

Duncan Johnson is president of Johnson Motor Co. Dealerships. He also serves as the vice chairman of the Central Savannah River Area Alliance, a public sector, nonprofit planning and development agency that serves a 13-county and 41-city region in the eastern portion of central Georgia. He attended Augusta College (now Augusta State University). He and his wife, Lynda, live in Augusta. They have two children and three grandchildren.

Johnson was not the only person appointed to a state entity. Here are the others Deal announced:

  • John Callaway, owner and operator of Callaway Cattle Col, a cattle, hay and timber business in Hogansville, to the Georgia Agricultural Exposition Authority
  • Jody Whisenant, a Gainesville optometrist, to the State Board of Optometry
  • Lynda Gudenrath, former business owner and current Macon resident, to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame Authority
