STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – DeKalb County authorities have charged a 50-year-old man with raping a woman in a Stone Mountain church last month, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Authorities said Wednesday that John Russell Carver is charged with rape, armed robbery and aggravated in the attack. Authorities say the Georgia Bureau of Investigation linked Carver to the crime with DNA.

Police say he raped the woman – an employee of the church – before stealing her cell phone. Authorities say he sold the phone hours later at Underground Atlanta in downtown.

Carver is already in the Fulton County jail on unrelated charges. It was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney.

I put animals like in the same classification as murders and child molesters. The only reason he needs an attorney is to have someone accompany him to the electric chair.

Who cares if he has an attorney. Take him out back to the wood shed and give him some justice with a rope.

tuffenuf4u, did you know that

tuffenuf4u, did you know that biblically, a rapist is supposed to be given the death penalty, just as a murderer? If only the law was followed as it is upposed to be, we would see less and less of people like this man Carver. Before anyone says anything about the laws were changed by JESUS, HE said HE did not come to change any of the GOD's laws. HE changed the blood sacrifices when HE died on the crss.

Or...even better...what makes you guys think that those of us who aren't Christian should have to follow Christian law? Or even "more" better...what makes you think a country founded on freedom from religion should follow Christian law?

1. This man should be

1. This man should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and receive the harshest penalty.
2. The headline is nothing more than Christian bashing. You do not see stories like this with the headline, Rape in a Chevy..., Rape in a Woman's Home..., or Rape in in a Local Bar. But if it happens in a church then by gosh announce in the headline that it happened in a church to boost readership and slam the church.
3. realitycheck09 at least get the quote right, "freedom of religion."

Another repeat offender who

Another repeat offender who liberal judges allowed to rape and pillage throughout the community.

Tisk, Tisk, I honeslty don't think this is Christian Bashing...Most, even criminals consider church grounds holy and don't commit crimes there so when something as rare as this does occur it certainly is very newsworthy. The headline is honest (many aren't nowdays) as it is a great attention grabber and that is the purpose of a headline.
