Friends of the Jessye Norman School of the Arts presented a check for $6,000 to the school Monday.

The money was raised through the Vintage Hat and Accessories Fashion Event and Luncheon Fundraiser on Jan. 29.

The event featured items spanning 100 years from the collection of Ann N. Johnson.
The school plans to use the money to buy a grand piano.
