Inmate caught days after leaving center

A  man who walked out of the Augusta Transitional Center on Saturday was captured Thurs­day  in the 1400 block of Old Savannah Road, Richmond County jail records show.

Spencer Darnell Cotten, 49, was serving time for burglary and criminal attempted theft by taking , federal marshals said.

I just don't get why anyone

I just don't get why anyone would serve ALMOST all of their entire sentence and then try to escape? Pure stupidity...

He probably did not have

He probably did not have anywhere to go, no job and thought it was better where he was so he would get a warm place to sleep and food each day. Sad but true. Police will tell you that some commit petty crimes during the winter so they have the above.
