An ex-couple got into a fight with a knife after she started throwing his food in the trash, according to an incident report.

Authorities said they were called to a Cherry Tree Crossing apartment around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday after the woman claimed her ex-boyfriend had cut her throat.

The argument started when she came over to his house to pick up some clothes and began to throw the food in his refrigerator in the garbage, police said. The man told officers his ex had grabbed the knife and was cut in the chest during the struggle for the weapon.

The woman, who was highly intoxicated, told officers he tried to cut her throat from behind because she was leaving him, police said. She was observed by officers to have a small cut that did not break the skin.
