Augusta hotel clerk robbed

Authorities are searching for a man who robbed a Washington Road hotel clerk Tuesday evening, according to an incident report.

The manager of Parkway Inn at 2852 Washington Road told officers a man with a bandana and sunglasses hiding his face came into the hotel around 9 p.m. and demanded a clerk fill a plastic bag with money. He told the clerk he had a gun but he never displayed one, police said.

The subject took the clerk’s cell phone and fled, leaving his bag on the counter.
