A party on Champion Pines Lane in Augusta escalated into an altercation when a marijuana bong was pulled out, according to a report filed with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Shae Marie Foss said that Jonathan Mitchell pulled out a marijuana bong and attempted to light it. Foss said that when she slapped the lighter out of his hand Mitchell started shoving her toward her car.

Mitchell hit her in the face, she said, and forced her into the backseat of the car. He then drove her to the Pilot gas station on Jimmy Dyess Parkway, where she got out of the car and ran for help.

Foss said she wants to press charges against Mitchell, who is employed as an assistant manager at Claire’s in the Augusta Mall, according to a sheriff’s report.

I don't get why the writer

I don't get why the writer put Mitchell's place of employement in the article? What does that have to do with anything?

Oh my god, he's got a loaded

Oh my god, he's got a loaded bong! Run away! Run away!

In other news today, a man was bitten by a dog when taking a shortcut through the dog's property. He was treated for minor lacerations at the local hospital and then booked into the county jail on a charge of trespassing. He is being held in lieu of $500 bond. The dog declined medical attention and was last seen wagging his tail.

I would tend to agree that

I would tend to agree that his place of employment is not relevant. Why put another "bonger" out on the street, looking for work?

I was assuming Dani was referring to User420...and I've read some of her posts where she mentioned she was a lesbian. Also I'd just like to say that people who live in glass houses shouldn't be so quick to throw stones.

You all should pretty much be

You all should pretty much be ashamed of your selves. A teenage girl got the heck beat out of her by a 29 year old alcoholic and all you guys are focusing on is the weed aspect of this article. She asked her friend not to smoke because he was already drunk and they were supposed to be leaving soon. So does that warrant him the right to pin her against a wall to the point where she cant breathe? That gives him the right to shatter a glass over her? It allows him to beat and kidnap her? No it doesnt, the fact he was smoking has nothing to do with the fact a teen age girl has 2 busted lips and a dislocated nose. Abuse is not a joke. Especially when coming from an alcoholic who is supposed to be a role model for his 6 year old. The reason his employer is there is because he already had a warrant in richmond county WHERE THE MALL IS LOCATED. What if shae was your daughter. Rethink your comments please. Its not cool or funny what you all are saying. Whether the argument started over him smoking a bong, or over the color of his shirt. He still had no right to lay his hands on a woman. No one does. She did NOTHING to him, but yet he felt the need to drunken attack and force her into a car. And you all turn it into a joke. Shameful.

azx, lighten up. After you've

azx, lighten up. After you've been on here for a while, you'll be able to quickly determine jokes and serious content.

User420 is a BIG proponent of legalizing marijuana. It's his/her right to do so as it is my right and others to take him/her to task.

As for his/her sexual orientation, doens't matter/don't care.

No one you have "addressed" condones criminal behavior of any kind.

What is "shameful" is being new to a post and jumping to conclusions when you aren't aware of those with whom you would like to converse.

Welcome to the fray. If you are thin-skinned, you may want to consider a different avenue to posit your thoughts.

This isnt twitter. I

This isnt twitter. I understand that all of it is people joking. Which is what bothers me. She did not know they were even posting an article about her, then she finds this article, which poorly explains what even happened. Then all the comments about people making jokes on her. Shes traumatized. And all that came out of it is people making pro-marijuana jokes. This is not a legalization debate. It is a story of a teenage girl being assaulted and kidnapped. And the writers completly wrote around that. If people want to make silly I LOVE WEED jokes, take it to twitter. Other wise people should really grow up. Like I said, it doesnt matter WHAT started the arguement (smoking weed, wanting to leave, what day of the week it is) bottom line, a girl ended up bleeding in a parking lot somewhere. This article should not even have marijuana mentioned here. Its completely irrelevant to what happened. And its kind of sad that people just take this so funny. I have a sense of humor. But this is just morbid.

It's unfortunate when anyone

It's unfortunate when anyone uses violence against another person. The scenario surrounding this case is sketchy at best. It's obvious that you know the person affected and my sympathy is with you and her.

Bigger questions come to mind. I insinuate nothing but ask; why would a teen be at a party with a 29 year old?....why would she be associating with someone that feels it necessary to have drug tools on them?.....why would she slap the bong out of his hand rather than just leave?.........was he trying to sexually assault her?........where were her friends and why did they allow her to be taken against her will?

Based on your comments that she is devastated, it would seem that you are close to the situation. If so, comfort her and advise her to choose her friends and parties carefully. If this man is guilty, I hope he is arrested and prosecuted to the letter of the law.

Best of wishes to you both.

Another thing you need to get

Another thing you need to get used to is the lack of information given in many articles. Possibly if the article had the information you seem to have first hand knowledge about many people would not be making jokes. That is not the information that was given. We only know what we have read in the article.

I disagree that drugs and

I disagree that drugs and alcohol are not relevant to the story; they seem to be an integral part of it. It's embarrassing to the victim I'm sure, but there it is. If Foss is a teenager, why is her name in the paper?
