Augusta man, 70, robbed at ATM

  • Follow Crime & courts

A 70-year-old Augusta man called officers after he was robbed Thursday at the Wells Fargo ATM at 3115 Peach Orchard Road, according to an incident report.

The victim told officers he was waiting to receive his cash from the walk-up ATM in the front of the building when an unknown man ran by and snatched the money around 2 p.m. He was last seen driving away in a black SUV.

A teller told officers the suspect had just visited the inside of the branch to withdraw money from his account.

As Sherlock Holmes would have

As Sherlock Holmes would have said, it's elementary dear Watson. If "the suspect had just visited the inside of the branch to withdraw money from his account" it should be easy to figure out who he is, just look at the account number on the withdrawal slip.
