ATHENS, Ga. -- Someone found a man’s body in the University of Georgia’s Fine Arts building this morning, UGA police said.

The person notified campus police at about 9:48 a.m., but police don’t yet know the cause of death.

“Preliminary investigation does not indicate obvious signs of foul play and the incident remains under investigation,” police said in a news release.

University officials are “relatively sure” of the man’s identity, but his name will be withheld until his next of kin are notified, police said.

He is a black man in his mid-40s, according to police.

The building is at the corner of South Lumpkin and Baldwin streets.
