ATLANTA — An Atlanta Fire Department official says a woman who had been trapped under a train at a rail station in downtown Atlanta has been rescued.

Capt. Jolyon Bundrige says the woman wound up under a train Tuesday morning at the Five Points station. He says she was extricated by emergency workers and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.

Bundrige says there are conflicting reports as to how the woman wound up under the train. The system's North-South line was shut down for a time, and MARTA spokeswoman Cara Hodgson says service has been restored on a single north-south track, with delays expected.
