ANDERSON, S.C. — An Anderson man has been returned to South Carolina after he turned himself in to police in Georgia to face charges in the death of his pregnant girlfriend.

Police say 28-year-old Keith Rucker turned himself in Lavonia, Ga., late Wednesday morning and was returned to Anderson on Thursday. Rucker is charged in the death of 22-year-old Kacy Roberson and her unborn child.

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore says Roberson died from strangulation and was also hit in the head repeatedly.

Police say her parents were notified when she failed to pick up her two children from a day care center Wednesday evening. They found Roberson in the apartment, where the door apparently had been kicked open.

It was unclear if Rucker has an attorney.
