Icy conditions are making it extremely hazardous for the carriers to deliver this morning's edition of The Augusta Chronicle.
We apologize for the delay and ask your patience.
People can do without their paper for a few hours... I hope the carriers stay safe. It's brutal out there this morning.
There is black ice everywhere....Augusta Tec. needs to take a 'snow day' and close down the campus..
my 2 cents
csrareader you got it right but they'll be some people getting their panties in a wad because they didn't get their paper this morning
Tech didn't close today? They really need to. The teachers and students don't need to be endangering themselves trying to get there. I can look out my door and see a solid sheet of ice on my road. I wouldn't even try to walk much less drive. But I digress. We can read the paper online and let the carriers stay safe until later.
Augusta Tech. needs to wake up and shut 'er down..
These are bad conditions and we are not used to driving in this type of weather. There doesn't even have to be other cars on the road...the roads are slippery. We really have so much to be grateful for. A newspaper? We are fortunate to have the internet. Some people don't have power, food, clothing, etc. Many of us are just inconvenienced. We are so blessed, sometimes, we never take the time just to say, "Thank you." Just sit in a warm home, with food, water, clothing, family and say, "Thank you." There are homeless people hating this weather more than we ever could. They shouldn't endanger the lives of Waste Management, Mail Carriers, or newspaper deliverers. It's not worth it.
All schools and colleges should be closed, its enough wrecks on the road ways without adding more.
It's the same ol same ol news everyday. Everyone can wait for the drama without endangering lives and creating another.
Can't believe some people! Person called mgmt and demanded their paper be redelivered (they couldn't find it in the snow). Poor carrier, fell and busted her rear trying to get the paper to their porch! Some people have nothing better to do than be inconsiderate! Come on folks, I know you pay for a subscription, but show some compassion!!!!
Only thing I missed was the crossword puzzle.
