Man pulls gun in Wheeler road rage incident

  • Follow Latest News

A case of road rage caused one driver to pull a gun on another, according to an incident report.

A 68-year-old Appling man told authorities a fellow driver began cursing at him and accusing him of almost causing an accident on Wheeler Road around 11 a.m. Wednesday. The man pulled off at the Circle K at 3755 Wheeler Road with the angry driver trailing close behind, police said.

The Appling man told authorities he attempted to walk in the store but the other driver, estimated to be around 30 years old, walked over, kicked him in the groin and punched him in the throat.

In order to defend himself, the elderly driver grabbed a hammer, police said. In retaliation, the enraged driver pulled out a pistol before fleeing the scene.

I wish the elder would have

I wish the elder would have had the pistol. 68 years old vs 30 year old (eminent harm of body) - sounds like homicide that would have been justified.

And now this piece of garbage

And now this piece of garbage is going to get to spend time in the (trash) can. It's amazing what manages to pass itself off as human these days.

That said, the older guy should have driven into a fire station or a police depot. A Circle K was not the right choice.

Cristinadh, what this world

Cristinadh, what this world is coming to is ignorance that breeds ignorance!

To the 68 year old; Get trained, get a license to carry a concelaed weapon, and protect yourself and family. A hammer is doesn't do much good when the bad guy has a gun! Read the local laws pertaining to assault, and prepare yourself completely, prior to taking on the responsibility of carrying a weapon.
