Suspect caught in Aiken jewelry robbery

AIKEN -- A suspect in last week's holdup of an Aiken Mall jewelry store is in custody.

According to a news release from Lt. David Turno, of Aiken Department of Public Safety, investigators acted on a tip and were able to identify Travis Glanton as the suspect in the armed robbery of Kay Jewelers on Wednesday.

Officers with Aiken Public Safety and deputies from the Aiken County Sheriff's Office were able to track down Glanton around 3 a.m. and take him into custody, according to a release. Glanton in currently being held in the Aiken County Detention Center charged with armed robbery with a bail set of $100,000.
