Dollar General robbed at gunpoint


Sheriff's deputies are investigating an armed robbery that took place this morning at Dollar General, 2344 Washington Road.

According to Richmond County Sheriff's Office dispatch, a man about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 175 pounds came into the store around 8:51 a.m., showed a silver handgun and demanded cash from cash registers and the store safe.

The man, who was wearing a blue puffy jacket, jeans and knit cap, rode away from the store on a bicycle with the cash and a jug of laundry detergent, an incident report said.
