Authorities are searching for the person who broke into a Washington Road Checkers through its drive-thru window, according to an incident report.

Deputies were called to the fast-food restaurant at 3050 Washington Road around 2:30 a.m. today after the security alarm was activated.  It appeared the burglar entered and exited through the window.

A representative from the restaurant told officers he was unsure if anything was taken. However, it did appear that someone had attempted to get into the safe.

Again? That same checkers gets busted into more than any other restaurant in augusta. They do have good fries, it would ALMOST be worth it... glad no one was hurt or held up.

Maybe this was just a matter

Maybe this was just a matter of a starving person trying to get some food. After all, crime rates in Augusta are falling everyday, not rising. This is most evident from the fact that Richmond County SO was recently furloughed which proves we don't really need them anymore. Yes, things are great in Augusta, but sometimes a case of the munchies can get out of hand.
