According to a news release, the second suspect, Pierre Lawray Horton, 21, has been arrested and charged in the Sunday death of Samuel Carroll Jr., which occurred on Nov. 28 at 2910 Richmond Hill Road.

Horton is being held at the Richmond County Jail on charges of murder and armed robbery, according to Investigative Sgt. James Kelly.

Desmond Marquette Anthony, 23, had also been charged earlier this week in the death of Carroll.  No other arrests are expected in this case, Kelly said in a news release.

hmmmmm...pierre lawray:2 counts, i theft by taking and possession...both charges ended with probation and community service, and now someone is dead....another case of the criminal justice system failing..where are these "so-called" community leaders the ones who protested outside the court house hollering "racism" when betty beard took money earmarked for donation to a charity and gave it to a county employee???? you know the "pastors" who holler "police brutality or unnecessary force and of course racism" when a thug/drug dealer(like the honorable justin elmore) is shot by a rc deputy(in the line of duty-do his job) while committing a crime or shooting at the deputyor trying to run them over....oh i guess this isn't "high-profile" enough or can't be used to increase the take at the collection plate.

I am pleased when I read of

I am pleased when I read of an arrest in a murder case. This shows good work by our police force. Congratulations to the men and women who risk their lives everyday. I am even more interested in the punishment of the convicted. Why not write about how their life in prison is so difficult and how they wish they had never killed anyone? Write about how the murderer would know better next time, due to this horrible punishment that is being experienced. Oh, I forgot, the punishment that is being given out these days is not a deterrent to any crime. My bad!
