Georgia sailor faces child porn charges

ST. MARYS, Ga. -- Kingsland Police have arrested a Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base sailor on possession of child pornography charges.

John David Martin, 29, of St. Marys, is accused of having 114 pornographic images of children under the age of 18 on a laptop computer, police said.

Martin was identified as a possible suspect by online activity that police described as searches for pornographic images or videos of children. The Kingsland Police and the Naval Criminal Investigation Service arrested Martin on Friday after they tracked a computer address to a residence at base housing, police said.

Kingsland Police did not provide Martin's rank, how long he served in the Navy or his job title. He is being held at the Camden County jail awaiting a bail hearing.
