Aiken city manager search narrowed to three finalist

AIKEN --- City council members will interview three finalists for city manager on Friday.

Candidates include one current city employee and two South Carolinians who currently serve as city managers in smaller cities in the state.

City Manager Roger LeDuc said the city council members opted to not release the names of the three candidates so they wouldn't jeopardize the positions of the two out-of-town applicants.

LeDuc announced his plans for a January retirement in September in order to offer a longer transition period to work with the new manager.

City council members aren't expected to make a final decision until next week, according to LeDuc.
