3 relatives of SC sheriff arrested in drug bust

ANDERSON, S.C. - Relatives of Abbeville County Sheriff Charles Goodwin are in jail following a drug sweep that brought in more than 30 people in the Upstate.

Goodwin told multiple media outlets Thursday that a niece, nephew and great nephew were taken into custody by his deputies in what local and state officials called "Operation: Reno 911." He says the arrests leave him relieved because people in the community falsely accused him of protecting his relatives.

Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper says the arrests crippled cocaine suppliers, who were selling $30 million of crack and powdered cocaine every year in the area.

Sheriff Skipper just how did these bust cripple the SUPPLIERS ? They will
have someone else, to distribuite their poision before the weekend is over. Take one dealer off the street, and another will replace that one.
If they have a 30 million dollar a year market in the area you can bet your badge thay are still in bussiness.
