17-year-old killed after car egged in Atlanta

ATLANTA  - A teenager has been shot to death in Atlanta after a car was egged on Halloween, and police are looking for a suspect.

Police spokeswoman Kim Jones says the shooting occurred around 8 p.m. Sunday. She says the victim died en route to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as 17-year-old Tivarus Irving of Union City.

Atlanta Police Maj. Keith Meadows says investigators don't know if the victim was responsible for the egging.

Meadows says police had received a call about the egging and dispatched an officer who was monitoring the area. He says the shooting took place after the officer was sent elsewhere.

Witnesses say the shooter was driving a gold, four-door Mercedes 190E.
