GREENVILLE, S.C. — The National Weather Service reports it was a "low-level" tornado that struck in northern Pickens and Greenville counties earlier this week.
Bryan McAvoy with the weather service says a survey team determined late Wednesday that it was a tornado that touched down around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday near Travelers Rest. The weather service estimates low-end tornadoes carry winds of about 65 mph to 80 mph.
Multiple media outlets reported the storm uprooted trees, damaged docks, and struck Look Up Lodge off state Highway 11.
No injuries were reported.
Lodge creative director Kevin Keigley says there are no events scheduled at the lodge this weekend, so staffers have time to clean up.
