Man shot by Anderson sheriff's deputies dies

BELTON, S.C. — A Belton man has died after he was shot and wounded during a confrontation with Anderson County sheriff's deputies.

Deputy Coroner Charlie Boseman told reporters an autopsy on Sunday confirmed that 42-year-old Randall Eugene Nabors died from blood loss after a bullet severed an artery. Nabors had been taken to AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson after the shooting Friday night.

Sheriff John Skipper says Nabors was shot after he pulled a gun when two deputies confronted him behind a shed in Belton.

The deputies are on administrative leave while the State Law Enforcement Division investigates.
