An Augusta man was beaten and his vehicle stolen after he gave a ride to two men, according to a police incident report.

Police found the victim lying in the road at the 2900 block of Bransford Road in Augusta semi-conscious and bleeding from the head. The victim told police he had given two unidentified males he had met at Teresa's Mexican Restaurant on Boy Scout Road a ride, but otherwise did not remember what happened.

A witness saw the two men repeatedly punch and kick the victim in the head, according to the report. The witness tried to stop the men, honked his horn and called police, but the suspects drove off in the victim's vehicle.

The victim was treated at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital, the report said.

What kind of car was stolen?

What kind of car was stolen? What did the attackers look like? Were there any cameras at Teresa's or perhaps a credit/debit card capture that might lead to the identifiction of the perps?

The information above is

The information above is sketchy; but cut the reporter some slack. This is breaking news. I'm sure what shows up in print tomorrow will be more complete. Here is my plea to Sean: please do not create another file for the amended story, just update this story so all comments will be contiguous.

Little Lamb, I don't have

Little Lamb, I don't have much control over that, but I will pass on the request. They usually create a new online story when it is substantially different from the earlier story. Minor updates are just added to the existing story.

There isn't much to this

There isn't much to this story, so this may depend on how much information the Sheriffs Office releases.

Obviously the witness honked

Obviously the witness honked his horn and called police, not the victim.

The WRDW site has reported on

The WRDW site has reported on a shooting on Reynolds St early this morning (2:30 am). I would think the AC would have something up on that by now. Obviously last night was a major night for crime.

Well, first off, he should have known better. One can't be nice to anyone this day in time. I hand out no change, give directions, or time of day. Sorry. Society has made me that way and the burden is on you if you want me to change....

Yes, we all do that. Often.

Doesn't everybody- in between talking casually to 3 men while waiting for a train to pass?
