AIKEN — Two men charged in a home invasion that killed a South Carolina man last year have pleaded guilty.
The Aiken Standard reported 41-year-old Terrence Riley and 23-year-old Datron McFaddon pleaded guilty to a variety of charges in court in Aiken.
Prosecutors say 34-year-old Jerry Tyler of Ridge Spring died when he was shot in June of last year.
Riley pleaded guilty to murder, burglary and attempted robbery. McFadden pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and attempted armed robbery. They will be sentenced in about two weeks.
Prosecutor Strom Thurmond Jr. says the men and 18-year-old Islam Dunn and a 16-year-old are accused of breaking into Tyler's home and opening fire.
Dunn is expected to face trial in two weeks. Thurmond says no decision has been made on whether the juvenile will be tried as an adult.
It irks me too disssman. Like hanged, drived, runned. I have seen them all in articles and hear them everyday. It's like people are to lazy to learn proper tenses and its just easier for them to put a d or ed on the end of everything past tense. When a journalist was questioned, they said they are not instructed to write intelligent but on a 6th grade level and using terms the common citizen in their local area could understand even if it is slang or improper English. And, why not? We are the kings of Dumbing down our own country for the sake of not hurting lazy or ignorant peoples feelings. PC now trumps education, responsibility, and hard work.
