Deputies were called to the Augusta Canal early this morning after a woman’s vehicle was found in the water.
The incident occurred at Eighth and D’Antignac Streets at about 4 a.m. when the driver went off the roadway, a Richmond County dispatcher said.
The woman, who was not immediately identified, was found on the ground not far from the vehicle.
Must have been a Pontiac, I know I thought about doing that with mine a few times when it kept breaking down.
4am in the morning? Maybe she was coming or going to work.
I guess she was supposed to stay in the water. y'now... "remain at the scene of an accident" and all that jazz... smh
Found on the ground? Found dead, taking a nap, or what?
Probably not dead, or taking a nap. Probably just passed out or finishing her drink. Or it could be that a early riser just made a wrong turn, and barely escaped with her life, and was resting on the ground after freeing herself from the car and swimming to the bank. Too bad she did not have OnStar. See you can not really understand and prevent this from happening again unless you know all of the facts.
They should have warned her too stay off the SHOULDER of the road.
There's no good car washes open at that hour. Way to improvise!
Glad she was able to escape the car and didn't die.
The AC could have aleast given us a picture since we got no other details.
