North Augusta buys property in Hamburg

North Augusta City Council passed a resolution Monday to purchase 1.62 acres in the Hamburg area.

The property will be developed as part of the city's master plan , which included revitalizing the old Hamburg site, located along the Savannah R iver near the Fifth Street Bridge. The property is valued at $175,700.

uh, I have no idea what is meant by "the Hamburg" area. Was this a manufacturing site? An historic district? What?
