Richmond County school officials have announced that there will be a two-hour delay to the start of school at Glenn Hills Middle School on Tuesday.

Buses will run their normal routes two hours later than normal, and school will begin at 11:05 a.m. Dismissal time will not change, and all students will be dismissed at 4:05 p.m. Students will be counted present for the full school day. Breakfast will not be served, and lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m.

All staff are asked to arrive at their normal work time.

Because of a malfunctioning pump, Glenn Hills Middle School experienced a loss of air-conditioning in all classrooms.

Pupils were moved into the gym and auditorium, which had functional air conditioning. The buses ran on their normal schedule, but parents were permitted to pick up students early. Students picked up early were counted present for the day.

The RCSS Maintenance crew is on scene and the necessary parts for repair have been ordered, the school system said in a news release. Repairs should be completed by Tuesday.
