Richmond County Health Department is holding a forum at 6:30 p.m. today for "tattoo businesses" to respond to a proposed ordinance regulating their operations.
Among other things, the ordinance will require tattoo artists to be licensed, complete medical training and have their places of business inspected twice a year.
Established Augusta tattoo business owners have embraced the proposed ordinance, saying it will weed out unsafe, fly-by-night tattoo artists.
The forum will be held at Frank M. Rumph Richmond County Health Department, 950 Laney Walker Boulevard.
