TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. -- A teen thought to have drowned Wednesday night was found alive and well at the Ocean Plaza Hotel, according to police.
The parents of the 14-year-old boy said they last saw their son on the beach near 15th Street. The parents' concerns their son may have slipped into the water prompted the island to launch search-and-rescue efforts, which included the assistance of the state department of natural resources, said Bob Bryson, acting chief of Tybee police.
The three-hour search for the teen ended when he was found at the hotel, Bryson said.
Didn't anyone think to look in the motel room first? Or maybe they did and he wasn't there and was playing games with his parents. If this was the case, he needs a trip out behind the ol' whooping barn. At any rate, be thankful this was not a tragedy.
This was really God's protection and I am so happy about this! There is so much bad news when it comes to kids these days, and I'm just happy he is alright. Three hours, my Lord, I know these parents are grateful and relieved. I just couldn't imagine. Great news:)
Parents..you are at the beach - do you know where your children are.
A teen without a cell phone glued to him or her???? Wow!!!
