Three pilots and the chief of maintenance for Savannah River Site’s Aviation Program were honored recently with awards from the U.S. Energy Department’s Office of Aviation Management and Wackenhut Services Inc.
James Williams, WSI-SRS chief of aircraft maintenance, was recognized as the top Aviation Operations Support Professional for his role in maintaining the site’s two security helicopters.
Pilots honored were: Butch Richister who received a DOE Award of Excellence for 15 Years of Accident-Free Flying; Louie Nye, who received a DOE Award of Distinction for 3,000 Hours of Accident-Free Flying; and Roy Moore, who received a DOE Award of Merit for 1,500 Hours of Accident-Free Flying.
