An 18 year old girl with a 2 year old baby loses control and wrecks her car with her baby riding along. Could bad choices be a factor?
An 18-year-old woman died Tuesday evening when she lost control of her 1999 Ford Escort and crashed on Old Shoals Road, near Monetta, S.C., according to the Aiken County coroner.
Tiffany Furtick was headed south on Old Shoals Road around 7 p.m. when she struck an embankment and rolled the car. All three of her passengers, including her 2-year-old son, were wearing seat belts, but Furtick wasn't, Coroner Tim Carlton said.
Toxicology tests are pending, but speeding is thought to be a factor, Carlton said.

The only bad choice I get from this is speeding !!!!!!!
If speeding is the only thing that hits you in the face, then you are not READING the truly sad part of this story. You're right Johnston -- my math skills tell me that this means Tiffany was 16, @ the time of the birth of her child. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and figure that there is no real father figure in this child's life, and that now Tiffany's family will have to raise this poor child, who has lost his mom, who was still a child herself. That's what I see.
If the child is 3, she was more likely 15 when she got pregnant. How sad that she still had not matured enough to learn to even buckle a seat belt.

Bashing her for making poor decisions isn't going to help her case now. Yes it's sad she wasn't wearing a seat belt. Yes it's sad that she was still a child herself when she had one. But the REAL sad part here is that a child has to grow up without a mother. We should be praying for her child and family in their time of loss... not criticizing her for what she did or didn't do.
I did read the truly sad part of the story and it wasn't her having a child at such a young age. It was her losing her life at such a young age. Again I say the bad choice here is the loss of a life at such a young age.
Why are you all sitting calculating when she had her child....you should be focusing on a another part
Well 1st this Soheyr chick needs to learn how to read bc she wasnt 15 when she had a baby... bc the child is only 2 not 3.. which means she was 16!!! But im nt here to argue over stupid ppl like the one who left that rude comment!!! A girl just lost her life... a child is without a mother now and a man is without his wife!!! Its very sad that this happened.. and i hope u rest in peace Tiffany!!! Prayers r with u Doug and family!!!
It's funny how some people seem to be so perfect when looking @ others choices.. No matter how old the childis or the mother was one is dead and they are now without one another. Whatever choice was made can't be reversed now so how about we not bashbut be of some support to the family(s) that have to deal with this life altering situation
