A man who walked off from a North Augusta nursing home today was found safe about two hours later, according to Sgt. Robert Bell of North Augusta Public Safety.
The 78-year-old man, whose name was not released, wandered away from UniHealth Post-Acute Care on Talisman Drive around 6 p.m., prompting a call for volunteers and Aiken County's Bloodhound Tracking Team to search eastern North Augusta for the man.
He was found in good condition about three-quarters of a mile from the home, walking along Old Edgefield Road, Bell said.
The department participates in Project Lifesaver, which provides patients with bracelets containing tracking devices, but the man was not wearing one, Bell said.
Yes! Good he was found safe, but this is not the first time that Man has wonder around.
Sounds like this guy is a real good candidate for that tracking device, wouldn't you think?
