DECATUR, Ga. — DeKalb County officers are searching for a man who disappeared during his molestation trial, only to be acquitted by the jury.

Prosecutors say Luciano Gonzales disappeared this week after the first day and a half of his trial on accusations that he molested the 8-year-old girl daughter of a friend.

Gonzales was on bond and had freedom of movement during the trial.

Gonzales' attorney, Jerome Lee, says his client feared the system wasn't fair.

Judge Linda Warren Hunter issued a bench warrant for Gonzales' arrest.
