CUMMING, Ga. — A Forsyth County sheriff's department spokesman says a 71-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a falling tree while clearing a lot.

Capt. Frank Huggins says Norris Therlow Goss of Dawsonville was a part of three-man crew working on the lot Tuesday. Huggins says another crew member driving a tractor accidentally knocked the tree over.

Forsyth County fire Capt. Jason Shivers says the 75-feet-tall pine tree hit the man in the head, and firefighters had to cut several tree branches to reach him.

Huggins says no charges are expected.
