A man is being sought in the shooting of three people, including a child, on Second Avenue  this afternoon.
Richmond County sheriff's deputies are seeking Jerome Jerrod Sturgis, also known as "Dirt." Considered armed and dangerous, Sturgis was last seen about 5:30 p.m. wearing a Dallas Mavericks jersey, blue jeans and riding a black mountain bike.
The victims were Darnell Lorenzo Brown, 19, who was shot in the head; Darren Wayne Howard, 19, who was shot in the hand; and a 12-year-old boy, who was shot in the chest, according to James Kelly of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Division.
All three were taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital, according to authorities, although an MCG spokeswoman said the hospital had no record of their conditions.
Witnesses said people had gathered outside a residence at 1929 Second Ave. when someone started shooting from a clearing.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (706) 821-1080.

If I get shot, please don't take me to MCG. They can never find the gun shot victims that get dropped off there.

Dear Insider Information, You

Dear Insider Information,
You have no idea what you are talking about. If you are shot, your best bet at survival would be to make your way to the Regional Trauma Center at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) with some of the finest Emergency/Trauma Physicians in the country. No patients get lost. However, when gunshot victims are involved, it is policy NOT to give information out about where the patient is located, as well as who they are and whether or not they survived. You really don't want to give the shooter yet another opportunity to finish the job. Please think BEFORE you type.
