Residential customers for Comcast experienced a service outage on Sunday night.
Tina Baggott, the director of marketing for Comcast, said the outage affected some customers in the Augusta area.
The power went out to a receiver affecting eight to 10 cable channels, causing customers to lose access to the channels, Baggott said. The outage lasted two to three hours. The cable channels were restored the same night. Phone and Internet service were not affected.
The power outage was very unusual and does not happen on a normal basis, Baggott said. She is unsure whether the extreme high temperatures contributed to the outage.
