AIKEN -- The city of Aiken is looking for residents' input for its next strategic plan update.

The city will hold a series of five meetings, beginning today, to receive input on shaping Aiken for the next 10 years.

The 5:30 p.m. meeting will be held on the first floor of city hall. Mayor Fred Cavanaugh and City Manager Roger LeDuc will recap how the city has implemented previous strategic plans, which began in 1992.

Residents can also complete an online survey at cityofaikensc.gov.

Other meetings will be: April 13, 7 p.m., Smith Hazel gym; April 27, 6:30 p.m., H.O. Weeks center gym; May 6, 6:30 p.m., city hall, first floor; May 22, 10 a.m., city hall, second floor.

Community suggestions will be compiled and presented to the city council in September. The final plan will be unveiled in December and distributed during the Celebrate Aiken! 175th birthday party Dec. 18.
